queen mojo reappears at Pollyanna
“The craziest, filthiest any-hole-will-do cabaret variety night. It’s a show, a happening, a movement… Your life is poorer for not having been yet’ ★★★★★ ScotsGay 2016
We are back, bringing you performance art, drag, cabaret and the best and messiest Fringe talent, hosted by feral drag creature Pollyfilla. Hold your cocktail glasses tight as the stage is readying itself for yet another year of queer carnage, genre-defying performances and more beautiful, sweaty disasters. Different performers every night, plus of course our devastatingly delicious resident queen Desert Storm.
FREE ENTRY! Performances from 11pm. Dancing until 3am with our DJ, Aphid.
_ Duration: 180 mins
_ Age Suitability: 14+
_ Venue: The Library Gallery
DICE Festival is an artist-led festival of chance. Here are the rules.
- On each night, there will be six acts.
- When, and if, each act will perform, will be determined by a dice roll.
- The rolling of the dice will be completed by your evenings host, the Dice Master.
- The dice will be rolled six times.
- Each act risks performing six times, and not performing at all.
- We like the number six.
Come and see the evening unfold. We don’t know what will happen. But we know it’s going to be good.
Leeds based collective Live Art Bistro (LAB) have been given the keys to ZOO Venues for one night only to present a mini festival of experimental and transgressive performance with over 20 artists from across the UK and Europe. ‘All These Things’ is the inaugural outing for Live Art Bistro at the Fringe and takes the reins of the likes of Forest Fringe, to deliver a programme of work that might struggle to be seen or even find a venue otherwise. Lasting for 12 hours (under one single ticket) this model encourages audiences to choose their own adventure across the two venues and encounter experimental and transgressive performance, rarely seen at Ed Fringe. This is a new and immersive cultural offer for festival goers and Live Art Bistro hope that people are made to feel at home in the spaces created.
The LAB collective are also keen to see change in how artists are valued at the festival.

'tonight is the night baby and forever (but no recycling)' by moa johansson
tuesday 3 July | paper dress vintage | 7pm - durational | free
- including an EXCLUSIVE LAUNCH of 'A Rediscovery of Microsoft Paint'
'tonight is the night baby and forever (but no recycling)' is about wanting that pair of red shoes but actually not wanting it because
once one gets them one actually wants another pair of red shoes and it continues like that in fact it never stops
and one is stuck in an endless cycle of displeasure where ‘i love to love you baby’ plays on repeat again and again and again
a body mistakes materialistic desire for sexual desire / she makes love to a pair of red shoes and as she does so she fakes an orgasm because / it is
a reality of never ending wanting
based on sweaty unsexy dissatisfying pursues for something unattainable
in 'tonight is the night baby and forever (but no recycling)' moa johansson creates exaggerated images of obsession and explores excessive emotions around unnecessary items.
since first presented as part of the SPILL Festival National Platform in 2016, moa has performed 'tonight is the night baby and forever (but no recycling) at various venues around the country. this is a 90 minute finalized version of the piece.

"We're building a shell in new territory to harness this energy before the outside frenzy drowns it entirely. Holding sacred space for the outsiders who so vitally need it. Bringing together feral noisemakers from near and beyond here into one cocoon of resistance."
The Palace doors open to Berlin for a one-night-only Fasching Feast for the eyes, ears, stomach and mind. /Deutsche Textfassung unten/
Berlin has often been defined as a creative hub for artists to meet, explore and interact. Yet despite its abundance of creative events we are often left with the feeling of being a mere spectator in a room surrounded by people we don’t know – and don’t dare to talk to.
The Palace meets Berlin by bringing something new to the table, where engagement is the goal of our happenings, creating atmospheres where the exchange of ideas are encouraged and networking can take place.
We invite you to join our Berlin banquet table this February, when the tradition of Fasching allows a time of excess and rules are for bending, breaking and turning inside out.

queen mojo tries out some new ideas at The Glory's Werk in Progress night.
Jonny Woo opens up the doors of The Glory to all performers with new work in development. This is a programmed 'open mic' evening of all performance styles for queer artists. Whether its lip-sync, spoken word, live music, live-art or stand-up, all are welcome.
Reading Room1 is the act of reading in a room, reading aloud, cover to cover. The room answering the book, wall to wall. It’s an exploded diagram. A dialogue between thinking and making. It’s the rumination of the building itself, its matter and materials in the presence of a text.
In Reading Room 1 Gaston Bachelard's The Poetics of Space will be read out loud over two days, with actioneering by Julia Bardsley & invited guests.
Reading Room1 takes Bachelard’s text and places it in a dialogue with two scale-models of a House and a Barn. The buildings, made of taipa – a kind of mud, are located off-grid in deepest rural Portugal. The two buildings consist of a feral/creative space (the barn) answered by a domestic/cultured space (the house). These buildings offer the physical, material, symbolic and conceptual frameworks for this particular reading room and for the first stage of the wider concerns of The House of Wonder & Panic.
for Reading Room 1:
Julia Bardsley – architect & actioneer for all chapters
Boyd Clack – reader of the book
Moa Johansson – invited actioneer for Nests chapter
Andrew Poppy – invited actioneer for Intimate Immensity chapter

Set on the eve of an election night, the leader of The Feminazi Resistance challenges and celebrates victory over fascism with queer, feminist performance and the power of disco."
[I WANT] WHAT YOU WANT. WHEN [I’VE] GOT WHAT [I WANT], [I WANT] SOMETHING ELSE. [I AM] TRAPPED IN A HAMSTER WHEEL THAT IS SPINNING CONTINIOUSLY; HERE [MY] LUST IS MATERIALISTIC, EXAGGERATED AND NEVER-ENDING.
[I am] searching obsessively for excessive emotions by initiating sexual encounters with garments. Yet orgasm can’t be reached because desire is impossible. Driven by an unfulfilling longing [I want] what everybody else wants.
tonight is the night baby and forever but no recycling is a sarcastic approach to the phenomena of consumerism and the failing attempt to experience what is real - my orgasm, laughter, hope, satisfaction.
